Just did a long trip with 3x metal jerry cans inside the cab. These things are perfectly airtight to 60 degrees Celsius, so its fine as long as you keep them securely strapped down (mine wasn't and were still fine after quite a few big bumps). Wouldn't try it with plastic cans.

    Default Petrol inside car

    Hi guys
I would NEVER travel with fuel inside vehicle . The jerry cans will not leak, but what would happen if you were involved in an accident. This could be a bomb on wheels. NOT a good idea.

I was under the impression it is also illegal to carry fuel inside a vehicle, but as been mentioned I would never carry and fuel inside the vehicle...ever

I dont think fuel on a roofrack is so clever either. Accident = fuel dosed all over vehicle and all it needs is a spark.

    NOT INSIDE
The best is to use steel jerry's
Remember not to fill these to the brim with anny feul
Remember when you open the jerry in the Kalaharie 45 degrees C in the sun the jerry will Talk back.(feul under pressure) so let your wive open the lid mate
