Thanks Barry, good to see the couriers were on time

By now all the Gauteng guys should have received their chargers, those in CT & KZN would probably only get them Monday. I (hopefully...) sent everyone a tracking number.

    I have a question

I have the Benton BX 2, its the 6 stage charger. When do you use the Boost charge?, and there is a pic off a small * and a big * next to it, its always on the small *.

    What is that?
Plus when do you select and why would you select the 16V option?

I suggest you download the manual.
Pretty sure you will find your answers: http://bentoncharger.com/manual&brochure/BX-2.pdf

    * has to do with cold environments
Boost is used to equalize wet/flooded lead acid batteries.

Hi Family dog I bought a BX2 from you about 4 or 5 years ago and used it about 5 or 6 times and then bought a Conqueror Compact in 2012 and never used it again because the Conqueror has its own charger build in. Before when I used it I used it only for about 3 or 4 hours at a time and then unplugged it, no problems. Mid April I connected it to a battery that was standing in my garage and I wanted to fully charge it and leave it on trickle charging for a few days. Everything was working fine but the next day I went into the garage it was dead and no light burning. I have tried a few times to start it again but no lights come on when I plug it into the electricity. Any ideas what could be wrong.

Herman, if no lights at all come on, it would indicate that the internal fuse has blown. But when this happens, it is usually caused by an electrical surge of sorts that has blown something else in the charger.

You are welcome to post it to us and we can see what has gone wrong, if unrepairable, we will do you a special deal on a new one. Sadly, this would never be at the price of 5-6 years ago though!

    Hi Eric,

Just again a mention for a massive "thank you".

Ordered my BX-2 charger over the weekend, sent via courier yesterday morning, payment was only made late last night and the package was delivered by 13:00 today.

    Already charging batteries !

    Thanks for the excellent service!

    Regards

Just to mention, my Benton BX 1 charger bought from oom FD in 2008 is still going stong.

Has charged many a motorbike, car, caravan and trailer battery. At this very moment it is sitting charging an AGM 100AH battery that was sitting at 5.2V on Saturday morning. Will see if it can get it back to life.

    Thanks again oom FD !!

Glad to hear it is still going strong, JD!

5.2v is a bit low for the charger to 'recognise' the battery, you might have to put another charger or battery in parallel with the flat battery to bring the voltage up high enough for the charger to kick in?

Happy to report that my Bx1 pro is over a year old and has been happily servicing 4 bike batteries, the Pajero crank and the 2 aux batteries. Never missed a beat.
Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.
