True story Neil
REALLY nasty, Dirk. The Dacia single cabs were rear wheel drive while the double cabs and station wagons were front wheel drive. They all had the same rear axle, though. The rear diff pumpkin on the FWD versions just had a steel plate bolted over the opening where the diff center piece would normally go !!![]()
I seriously doubt that Isuzu will put their good name at risk. I'm serious when I say that one of the cheaper import MUST get it right. Our local vehicle prices are just crazy!
One thing that you won't get though. Isuzu in SA has thicker body plate than else-where in the world.

Some people say I have a "short temper"....I see it as swift and assertive reaction to Bull!
Driving out of BUCO I happen to see a Contractor who has a JMC driving in.
Turned round & went to chat to him. If I recall, he's had his for over 2 years.
Anyway, he said he has had NO issues with his, he's done 50 000km (not much, I know), said he's happy with it.
Must say, I've seen him often & it's always him driving (no drivers) & he never carries much in it either.
Would be nice to hear from someone who's used one in construction with heavy loads...

Seems raising R142k after a quiet period of 3 months is more difficult than I guessed.
Apparently having little work & keeping the teams busy working around my house is not that profitable.
But I'll post here once I buy it... with pics.![]()

hi There Guys,
I bought a JMC 4x4(look closely is has "Jiangling Isuzu" on the back) the 2.8 TD.(Not my first choice I LOVE THE AMAROK). Yeah there might be some farms vehicles that is less noisy but you do get used to it. Took it to Heidelberg 4x4 to test - very capable offroad and I am very happy to say those "HILUX" guys were impressed aswell. Took it to "de wildt" again impressed. There is one problem, no difflock. but 7l/100km @ 120km/h no problem. I had it for a year now and I am happy with it.
If you are on a budget this is one to look for.

Right, I'm only R138k short to buy mine.
Anyone want to donate to the 'Mad Manny Buys a Bakkie Benevolent Benefit' please don't hold back.
Well despite the complete lack of support from the Forum, I'm getting there slowly....
Now only R42k short...
BTW I was quoted MORE to insure the JMC than my Fortuner (R894.00 vs R845.00) even though the Fortuner is insured for DOUBLE!!!!,
but don't tell the Trolls, they'll go on a wife-beating rampage!!!![]()
