Your best bet would be at Elrico Koen in Stikland - 021 9489775 / 083 309 1734. Tell him I sent you and I'll kick his @ss if he doesn't give you good service

I have been using LR Sales in Montague Gardens for years, but you need a reference or buy a vehicle from them before they will touch your vehicle.

Please tell me what happened with Savannah, they have done work on my vehicle twice now, and I have been incredibly happy with the result. What did they do to you?

Have any of you tried bayview 4x4 in Killarney Gardens. They are excellent. A few months back a buddy of mine bought himself a 2001 Range Rover. Well we got ready to go on a trip along the West Coast. Half way there his air suspension gave in. No one there could fix it so he had to drive back on his bump stops.

To cut a long story short we called all the land rover agents and service centres and no-one was interested in giving us the time of day. Agents quoted a fortune for the repairs and couldn't do them for 2 weeks. They said that no parts were available.

Eventually we lucked into finding bayview 4x4. Vehicle went straight in. Parts delivered to them within 45min. Job done and us on the road again within 3hrs of finding them, including the computer reset time.

    Had a fantastic trip away.

Oh ya and the cost for both front wheel suspension airbags and labour came to less than the parts cost of 1 suspension airbag from the agents.

    Hi All

During a routine inspections, we found some oil in one of the turbo breather pipes although the turbo itself was completely dry with normal play. We also detected some yukkie black grime in the intake manifold on the Freelander td4. Mechanic suggested we tie down the breather pipe to prevent the valve to front of intake manifold from sucking in the circulated exhaust emisions to sidestep a process aimed at releasing cleaner exhaust emisions into the atmosphere. I could immediately experience better much pull and fuel consumption on the vehicle afterwards and have just completed a 1900km journey without any hint of problem.

I'm being told that Landrover could have done without this "circulation system" as it causes grime to build up in the intake manifold which eventually blocks all ports and limits airflow whilst eventually causing smothering to the motor. I'm however still puzzled whether this is safe for the vehicle or have I just bend over for a fish-hooked-cucumber on vaseline?

Ooeeee Galoppie, ma djy's harim mooooeesekwaad vi dai savanners. What kind majieta? Se vi ons oek! Vi hoekom hellu makka djou soe kwaaaaat?

This sounds like the Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve. Common wisdom has it that you are better off without it. Mine was sacrificed to make space for an EGT probe.

I can also recommend David @ Roverland in Montague Gardens. I bought most of my Series 3 spares (90% of gearbox and lots other) from him and he knows these vehicles pretty well. I have not had anything serviced by him, because I do these myself.

In Wellington at Down South you'll get very good service. Used to be a partnership, but one of the partners got sacked and now's the service even better.
