Yes this looks like the boost pipe from the inter cooler to the intake manifold.
I see the Bakkie is on 81k km so not a concern. as long as the insode of the pipe is not soaked in oil then the replacement pipe should be the end of your issue.

Yes it is the boost pipe from the inter-cooler to the intake...Ford is replacing it under warrenty...while it is in ,they are doing the water coolant pipe to the Auto Box also.

'n Familielid van my se boost pyp het ook op presies dieselfde plek geskeur, net die pyp vervang en daar gaan hy, blykbaar 'n swak batch.

    Syne was op die 2.2

What will be the issue if there is some little oil inside the pipe?

    Thanks,

I just had the exact same problem (splint on intercooler pipe/hose) where my Ford Ranger Wildtrak 3.2L was going into "limp mode" and showing a powertrain warning ⚠️ light.
I found I little bit of dark oil 🛢 in the intercooler pipe. Is that normal?

    #Problem details & facts:
-⚠️ Warning lights? =Powertrain (see below)
-Limp mode activated (Speed restricted to 40 KMPH max!)
-If I turned the Vehicle off then on again, the Warning ⚠️ sign would go away then I could drive normally until i need power again to go up hill, etc then the warning ⚠️ would appear and limp mode would kick in again
-There was a different noise everytime I turned off the engine (like air leaking noise, which was coming from the splint on the Turbo intercooler hose)
-The original intercooler pipe was manufactured in 2014 só it last 7 years. ⚠️ I do recommend you check the manufacturer date on the new one to see how long is sitting on the shelf. I found one at the dealer that was already 2 years old!

Boost pipe on my 2.2 Ranger went a week ago (48 000kms). Ford advised me to fit an aftermarket pipe (silicone bends and aluminum) at 1/3rd of the price. Appartently this will outlast the OEM part. I installed the aftermarket pipe....all good so far
