    Default Sand ladders

Hi, I'm bringing up and old question, and want to see if there is any difference of opinion these days regarding which sand ladders one should buy.

I am slowly kitting out my Series 3 (going very slowly and buying things as I can afford them), and the next thing on the list is a compressor and sand ladders.
I have seen the old steel plates and also rubber sand ladders, made from old tyres.

Which sand ladder should I be looking to get, and where should I shop for it?

I saw it, but was wondering if there were any new options or if peoples views had changed at all.

I saw these on the Aus 4wd Action DVD's...seem to work ok, but don't think they'll be affordable in SA.

    Hi Scouse,

I lugged a pair of sand ladders all over Southern, Central, East and North East Africa for two years on my SIIA and never used them once. They look good strapped to the roof rack, but that's about it.

Go to an engineering works, ask them to make a pair using stainless square tubing, 1.2m long and 300mm wide

I had a pair in the old R/Bay days when we used to drive on the beach, they worked well]
