    Default Lakenvlei

We always pass the Lakenvlei signpost near Belfast, when we drive to Pretoria, and I wondered if anybody could help me with some more info. We have a small family gathering coming up in Jan'15, and I was wondering if it might not be the ideal venue -fishing,mountainbike routes, tennis etc... Anybody on the forum been there? Help would be much appreciated.

Not a good time of the year to go there, it gets very cold there.

We're heading to lakenvlei tomorrow for a two night impromptu getaway! Hope the place is as good as it seems from the website. Heard a few rumours that it might need some TLC...

It is a stunning place. Log cabins in the woods with a lot of fire wood mahala. But it is expensive. Been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Last time there it was raining, which transformed all roads to muddy 4x4 challenges
