Biggles, thats interesting cos the price I got from them was R6000 for the rear bumper. All your other prices are the same as the ones I got.
Unfortunately I dont have a written quote though. But check those prices with them before you order.

Well here is the progress so far:

ARB bumper from safari centre and R&D: R14200 installed
rock hard rear bumper with tire carrier:R12000 (imported)
You can work on roughly 12x the US$ proce for anything from the states. Th eproblem there is nothing that has a "quality look" below $1000. Below $1000 you get a bar that stops at the corner....
I could get an ARB bumper for around 11000 if I imported it myself. but decided to go for a clean guardless look. ARB only make witrh the guard.
R&D do not do bumpers and were the first of the local outfitters to reply
    Burnco no reply.
Nomad (gomad) replied with prices: Front bumper with bush guard: R7500
Rear bumper:R7000 and R2000 for the tire carrier (I assume this includes highlift jack bracket and jerry can holders)
Front bumper without bush guard: R6000.

I have decided to go for the gomad rear bumper carrier and front bumper without bush guard to make it abit unique and show off that chromed Jeep grill. So far Ciske at Gomad has been very helpful and prompt in replying... maybe teh change in managment was real?

Hi Biggles, I would also go for the Nomad bumpers, they look like really good quality and not a bad price. Plus they custom make the bumpers so you can easily add extra lights for the rear bumper or what ever monifications you can think of.
I also like the look of the bumper without the bush guard.

What colour are you going to go for? I think they said it was only R350 to have the bumpers colour coded. That could be quite an interesting look.

Biggles, when are you getting your bumpers? I'll really be interested to see what the end result is going to look like. Wrt the front bumper, are you going to give them any pictures/guidelines as to what it should look like, or are you going to leave it over to them to come up with a normal guardless bumper?

Are you going to have them do this one, just without the guard?

Or something closer to this one?

Yup, thats the one just without the guard, so I believe ehey have one made up for a cherokee already, so they will proberbly just cut off the bars and fit it, cannot get too fancy as i am not there. Jeep goes in tomorrow for the measuring for 3 days. So Gorman you could pop in to have a look at the process in a couple of days.

Going for the black epoxy coat as its more durable than the paint, have enough problem with the paint scratching as it is. Also will go with my set of Gorman rocksliders

so all should be finished by the time i get home...

I might have rubbing issues with teh front wheel at full flex at it does catch the current bumper when flexing... will mention that and they can check clearances.

Ehh, you're referring to the bumpers, right?

Your Jeep's going to look "spif" with the new bumpers! When are you coming home again?

Has your bumper fitment been completed or is it still in progress - would love to go see how they do it if they are still busy.

Steve, you must be quite excited! Your rear bumper is getting the spare wheel carrier as well? I'll make an effort to go round there on Friday.

Yup, spare wheel carrier I opted out of the jerry can and hi-lift jack carrier. That is another swing arm and too much to open to get to the back door. I will make a plan...

Well backand got the \jeep back, quickly popped down to Knysna to unwind and gotten used to them...

I am impressed with the workmanship. They obviously are made to last... a nuclear explosion. All as I wished, the recovery pionts are bolted directly to the body.

I will try and post some pics. I like the clean front, although miss the (as the |SWAMBO puts it "macho bullbar").

    pics

Only problem is the clearance between the rear door and the bumper so that needs sorting out. With some flex they will rub.

Steve, your Jeep really looks lekker! Can't wait to see it in the flesh - would be interested to see how they've mounted everything. How about a nice pair of big spotlights on top of the bumper? You do realise that now that you've lost your OE foglights you've got a spare switch on the console that need something connected to it... I've used mine for a difflock switch...
