I thought the fact that "expert bush mechanics", that can rebuild a Toyota with a couple of coke cans and some baling wire, are available throughout Africa was one of the pro's of owning an Appliance ?

Oops, I forgot, most Mozambecans have some Porra blood, so I assume they are crappy mechanics, prefering to use banana peels and fish bones.

    Manny no, no, no.
    These things happen.

Now let's stop making excuses and let's fix that dizzy cap. Did it a few times in my younger (Fiat) days. Clean the inside of the cap with solvent (petrol, benzine, power paraffin) and let dry. Use a magnifying glass and a good lighting and you will see the lines where the arcing occured. Clean/smooth the lines with a strip of 600 sanding paper and then coat it with lacquer. Even the wife's nail varnish will do. Assuming the center electrode is fine you are done. Fit it and go.

I don't want the NL, just 2 cold ones will do.
You guys make the forum rock.

As Louis said cylinder 3,4 fires fine, that means center electrode is fine and 1,2 is probably spent.. Easier to replace and not sure you get electrodes over the counter.

If the graphite center electrode is worn, we would place a small coin or washer on top to make up for the gap. It worked and it gives you a fairly durable fix until such time that you get a replacement.

The Efi is as hard as nails. Not a heavy mod. As I explained to Adriaan if all 3 of the sensors of the Efi do not work it will still run. The Ecu will compensate for it.

All needed is a basic service, replace the fuel filters, Oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs every 15 000kms then you be fine(Cost should not be more than R800). Check the cap, leads and rotor on about 60 000km and replace when it is necessary.

But, fiddle like the Moz guys on everything and all will go wrong. The dizzy cap I saw was a bid worn but also on a stage loose, it worn deep grooves into the cap especially over points 1 and 4.

All 4x4's break down some more than others

The new dizzy cap is on this morning and Adriaan says it runs well. Last of the last is to get the timing where it should be and the ecu just setted. It need a Dyna, I like redo'ing the dyna after a new engine was installed and run at least for 10 000kms.

Alles is nou weer reg. Dit sal eers oor 'n tydjie wees ongelukkig.
