Default Greater Gauteng (GGX) XXXII: October Trip - Moolmanshoek

Check post #51 (top of page 2) for an updated RSVP list & please note you are only confirmed when you have paid...

    WHERE: Moolmanshoek
Just outside of Ficksburg in the eastern Freestate

    WHEN: 10th, 11th and 12th of October

    COSTS:

We are restricted to the camping area and the single building close to it

    - Camping = R100/person/night.

NB: We'll be drinking and eating around the fire... as we cannot have access to the Lodge or Bar facilities as they are hosting a wedding there.
(I consider this good news )

There are 9 rooms available at Langesnek (that sleep 2 people each)
Four of these rooms are ensuite and the rate for them is R300pp pn - Five other rooms (communal ablutions) are R250/night.
    - (All costs above are for 2pp sharing)

    TRAIL cost:

    - 4x4 cost is R250/vehicle/day

    Recommended ROUTE:

    Saturday Route:

    Visierskerf / Kloof: 20 km, 8 hours (w/ 15 vehicles)

A Sunday morning route for a smaller group can be arranged with them onsite if people are interested.

    ADDITIONAL INFO:

    1. ONLY 15 CARS! ... So first come/first served and only EFT's guarantee a place.

    2. They require a R3,000 payment to secure as they are treating the booking as a "group Booking" ... so i imagine I will need to gather money from all confirmed parties and then pay that

    3. I'm going to exclude food costs to make this simpler for myself. I think most people know each other, so informal arrangements can be made in the event of shared food or RibsMmmRIbs right?

    -----------------------------------------------

Tentative list: (NB; only 15 cars)

    1. Nerdbakkie & Swambo and mini Swambo
    2. Mad Manny & ...
    3. Sakush &...
    4. Gualter & ...

To these guys with no money:

    It's 360km from JHB.
    So that's an 800km weekend.
    At R16.00 per litre that'll cost me R 1 540.00.

    Camping is R100.00 per night, that's R200.00.

    Trail is R250.00.

So this weekend will cost you about R2k more than it would cost you if you stay at home.

If you stay home, but go for dinner, go shopping, go to movies or whatever, deduct that.
So call it R1 800.00 difference.

There are still NINETY days until the event, so all you need to do is save R20.00 a day.

Eurard could save that by free-wheeling down a hill or two and smoking 6 cigarettes a day less.
In Eurard's case he lso aneed to camp just to justify the CAPEX on that RTT.

So don't give me this 'I'm broke' crap...

Of Course Aaron will need to add the top-up of R50.00 a person, but that's small change...

I think we should give Pieter until next week, he has the Kungwini table to look after this week.
So let's get GGX XXX behind us & then we can start on GGX XXXII.
We will also need to decide on the Saturday evening, but I think a mass, bring 'n braai & then we just chip in for communal braai brood, slaai & potato bakes etc....

(In case you wondering what happened to GGX XXXI, here it is: http://4x4community.co.za/forum/showthread.php?t=174143)

No problem. Just nice to have the table near the beginning of the thread. But I guess he could pop it into post number 5 when he is ready.

Ps Manny u have it wrong , yes 200 rands per night for two campers , but if I have it correct we will camp two nights, so R400 for camping the week end. Ad to this fuel cost of around R2 per km , the weekend with food should cost around 3k.
