Depends on what you want to do.... In general they are good, but had their fair share of bloopers as well

En ek het 'n probleem vir jou oplossing, en waarom net moeilik wees, as ek met 'n bietjie moeite totaal onmoontlik kan raak ?

50/50 - good and bad stories. Can tell you one thing, don't compare their dyno figures with other places, if you do a before and after makes sure its always on the same dyno. most people I know get higher readings by SAC than anywhere else.

For sure, check that the correction factor on the top left is the same for both before and after dyno charts...usualy the after is +1.xx , the same as what you will get at the coast..

Best is get a buddy, do a few runs and compare again afterwards.

A friend of mine took his Lumina in when I still had my 550i, before he had 120 wkw and he was about 2 lamp posts behind me in a drag race..

after SAC he had "195 wkw" and he was still 2 lamp posts behind.. his car did sound better though...

Maybe get a quote from RGMotorsport in Randburg too, I know of a lot of people that are very happy with them, always good to have two quotes..

A mechanic at a Bosch diesel center once told me that he like SAC a lot. SAC is responsible for a lot of the repair work they have to do on diesels due to "overtuning"

But I never had any problems with the SAC chip and tuning that was done on my Isuzu Kb280dt

What does a 'stage 1' conversion entail?

Im guessing something like exhaust and maybe a chip?

If it were me I would take it to an exhaust specialist, and then a chip specialist, instead of an all in one place, but thats just me.

Would rather visit Dastek, CRD or van der Linde . Not SAC again.

I agree with MickPrado. Had a bad experience with SAC Diesel and they won't see me again. The Unichip is in any case developed by Pieter de Weerdt from Dastek and cost a lot less for the same chip compared to SAC. Look what he did to a Lamborghini Gallardo, it is faster than a Bugatti Veyron

I believe the comments regarding SAC will depend on the service received by them.

A buddy of mine had the intercooler conversion done at SAC on his 2.5td Drifter. He loved it, and had the vehicle serviced only at SAC.

Myself, I wasn't too ecstatic about the performance when I had exactly the same conversion done, on my 2.5td Drifter, at SAC. Sure, it pulled like a train, but I would make steam trains blush every time I pulled away at a robot with all the smoke left behind, not to mention the consumption that shot up. I won't go there again.

All depends on your experience with them.

PS: I'm one of the people that need to take my vehicle to a another diesel specialist to have the tuning redone.

I had a front wheel drive car, aftermarket charger + turbo, (loads of plumbing) and intercooler setup done by some Nolte guy, and it worked fantastic, but the diff inside the gearbox kept on splitting apart as soon as the tires became to wide (needed for a lot more traction)

Sent the box to SAC, And I dont know if they sent it to someone else, and if they did the work themselves, but it came back, and never broke again...

The same could not be said for the cv joints though.... Do you know how much damage a cv can cause if it breaks off
