Camping info for first timer in Botswana

Hi

I'll be going up through Botswana next month en-route to Zambia. We'll be travelling to Francistown and Maun to the Okavango Delta and then through Chobe to Zambia.

I was just wondering if anyone knows if it possible to camp in the delta without staying in a campsite?

Bush camping in the delta is not allowed. If you pull off the road you will either be on private land or a national park. You can negotiate with the local chief or stay at private campsites like Mankwe or Kazakini.
