We have just returned from a trip which took us from Martins Drifty via Francistown to Kasane and back. We were allowed through all of the vetinarary stops going North with no problem, since we told them we had meat for our own consumption. This was much less than 25kg in any case.
Coming back into Botswana from Vic Falls we were told not to bring fresh meat or fresh milk which we did not have. They checked our vehicles fridges and let us through with no problem. We were stopped at one other checkpoint where the same applied.
We were warned not to travel from Martins Drift to Francistown via Selebe Phikwe with meat or milk and had to make a detour.
We found all officials friendly and helpful and just doing their job.
