Burkina Faso for a week

I may need to travel to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso for work soon, having to stay a week.

Anyone got some usefull comments/tips on this place:

- visa
- flights
- where to stay
- what to do/not to do

Hi Lemon,

I was in Ouaga recently. Its a fantastic place. I obtained a visa at the Airport on arrival ( I think it cost $110) but was a pretty smooth process. I flew ethiopian which included a free night in the Hilton Addis.

We stayed in the Splendid Hotel fairly near the airport and it was acceptable. We actually found a better hotel in the new area of Ouaga called Ouaga2000 (pronounced Ouaga duamille) I van remember what the new hotel was called but I think it was the Hotel Libya.

Burkina is fantastic and a breath of fresh air, well laid out, fairly clean and very efficient. We were happy using taxis and the restaurants are fantastic. There is a Pizza place in the centre of town that probably had the best pizza i have ever tasted.

There are crocodiles in the parks so dont swim......
