If only you'd attempted to make wooden hinges, you'd have had Mike AG trembling that you may beat him as the forum's best woodworker .

    nice project.

if you are going to "cover" it, be it in fake leather or cloth, do consider getting a 5mm sponge from a fabric shop. sponge on the wood, then the cover, you will never again see the sponge, yet it DOES finish it off so much better.

    projects ....

some takes days or weeks, and get scrapped immediately ... then every now and again one actually turns out NICE .... the more projects you tackle, and the more school fees you pay, the quicker your final products will look GOOD.

and the more you do yourself, the quicker you will SEE just how useless the typical 4x4 fitment centre is ....

voorspoed met die komende projekte !

You made it to suit your purpose. It needs a bit of refinement to make it completely practical and apealing. You can always remove it when you have something better or improved. The box can always be used for something else later on. I assume that you do not have much skill in manufacturing. If so. Congratulations on your first attempt and may there be more!

You guys were really SLOW last night - I'd have expected much more imaginative replies (which I'm sure the OP was aiming at with the thread)

Faux leather...... must be a toyota driver.....

i would remove that stuff off the top and get some nice sponge placed up there and then do a bit of research and find a shop that sells real leather locally it is like R250/M there bouts if i remember right depending on if it is cow skin or game. then cover it with a nice skin. then get Dirk to make you a commercial member and resell the boxes to your fellow forumites for a tidy profit.

remember you get what you pay for, so sell it real expensive as expensive implys high quality.....

Why cover it with vinyl? Just use black or grey carpeting. Looks great and very serviceable. Cup holders, cel holders cig holders, all a good idea as well.

Thanks Carlo, Im great at what I do, being an inventive genius is just something I like to do on the side.

Since I got all this great feedback Ive decided to bless the world with version 1.1.2 as manny suggested. Keep those eyes gepillied

I do not drive a toyota in fact. I know it must be easy to get my signature mixed up
