Default Isuzu EGR blanking or not?

    Hi Guys

So there's this question around EGR blanking. Lots of good and bad to be said about doing it. Eg. egine temp, intake cleanliness, engine light, piston temps ect...

    Should I or Shouldn't I?
    Any advice?

I had a 2005 KB300LX d/cab 4x4 with a plug and play, SAC air filter and a free flow, great car never a problem. Then one day after I washed the engine the car did not want to rev obviously in limp mode. I investigated everything and found the EGRV valve filter to be blocked with dust and with the water it was stuffed. I wanted to buy one from GMSA and they did not know what it is after I showed them on the fish they quoted me R2500 for the item. This electronic 3-way valve control the EGR valve, follow the thin rubber tube from your alternator and you will see it on the right behind the air filter or follow the rubber pipe from the EGR valve and you will see it. This electronic 3-way valve gets a signal to send vacuum to the EGR valve to open/close. They said it cant be serviced and that it is a sealed unit. I opened it cleaned it and replaced the filter with a shammy I split in 2. The system worked perfectly. I think its is better to have the EGR in a working order then nothing funny can happen like overheating etc. If you block it the engine might go into limp mode because when the computer tell the EGR to open and the air-flow sensor measures the same amount of air(it should then be less because you circulate exhaust gas back into the engine) it will get confused.

Ok, thanks for the info. Does anybody know how big a job it is to remove EGR valve and clean it and the inlet pipe to the inlet manifold?
Does it involve new gaskets and odd tools more than sockets and spanners and a few beers?

Should be the 6 bolts on the EGR and if you talking about the whole inlet manifold I'm sure it needs new gaskets shouldn't cost much should be very simple as well just time consuming
