    At this stage I have already bought the axle. When its completed and I feel that their is a need for a brake axle , I will definitely fit one.First time I am building something like this so I was not sure witch way to go.

    It looks like a great project Louis but do consider the braked axle and shocks it makes for a much more stable and predictable towing experience. It is worth 10x the cost of the extra bits

    Louis how are you going to register it? Don't the authorities have a problem with home-built trailers etc?

    Can be done it is just a bit of a mission, keep every receipt especially for the axle and coupler

    Don't you also need your welding inspected by an SABS approved welding firm?
    For going over stuff:
    2006 Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi


    Ex:2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 Hemi

    For going around bendy bits:
    2006 Mazda RX8

    For getting dirty:
    2008 KTM 300 XC-W
    2001 Raptor 660 - slightly fiddled with

    Louis, great idea en leker op die oog. Regestrasie....ja n probleem, hou al die slips en as se gewig sertifikaat ook. dit is hiervolgens wat die GVM uitgewerk word. Laat weeg die trailer as jy klaar is by n weegbrug en vat sert saam. dis van ditaf wat die tara op die data plaat kom. die verskil tuusen die Gvm en Tara is wat die trailer sal kan laai.so as jy dit laat regestreer met n "un-Brake" axle is daar nie later n terug draai met n beter GVM agv n brake axle wat geinstaller is nie. As dit geregistreer is is dit klaar oor en verby. Maar 750kg is baie en as Mama nie teveel pak nie sal alles okay wees met die as wat jy nou het. hou maar die material se gewig dop waarmee jy die teradrop gaan toe maak(Clad). Die onderste raam(Onderstel) sal n middel dwars balk net voor die as moet inkry om teverhoed dat die reghoek na n trapuizim verander na die eerste pothole onder vrag. Probeer om dit deel temaak van die A-frame. Sodoende is die driehoek voltooi en dit baie sterker om die stampe en stote te kan hanteer. Die welding sertifikaat is wel nodige omdat dit n "home Build is". Daar is baie Engineurs firmas wat sal kan help hier mee. Dit is n MPI (Magnetic Partel Inspection) wat gedoen moet word en n sertifkaat word uitgeruik. maak net seker die matskapy wat die toets doen is SABS goegekeur. Koste +/- R1000. Die ander ding wat pla is die spaar wiel wat so hoog sit. Center point of gravity is hoog nou met die extra gewig, net n voorstel sit dit onder die trailer. net voorstelle van my kant af om jou te help, jou projek lyk goed, waar gaan jy die yskas sit?
