    Default Mercedes SL65

Hey guys & gals. I'm looking at buying a SL65, anyone on the forum here who has one? I went to my nearest MB dealer to get some info i.r.t the SL65 w.r.t the service costs and cost of spares.... They just looked at me as if I'm from mars...:what:

I know it's a R1.9m car and the services won't be cheap but that doesn't bother me. I'm looking at gettig a 2006 model anyway as their prices have dropped drastically. I read on a few American forums about a few issues like the ignition coil pack and the boot opening mechanism and if the ac pump goes the motor has to be pulled but I cannot find any details i.t.o engine failures....so that is a good thing right?

What can I look at paying for regular stuff like brake pads and discs? Any nfo would be greatl appreciated...especialy if it is a black eddition

I think most people who own a SL65 don`t do their own repair jobs to safe money, therefor you will have difficulty finding much info on forums.

You wont find a 2K6 Black edition in SA, they only recently started importing them, try Investment cars, they sometimes have interesting SL's in stock.

P.S. can you get me a job in Brasil as well, I also want to have your kind of issues (more money than brains) I want to give my brain a rest!

The regular SL65 will also do....I'll just have the top-end limiter removed, move the rev limiter up about 500rpm and then maybe a remap and then performance exhaust.... I will scratch around further on the US forums w.r.t performance upgrades......but hey, 450 kw and 1000nm torque should be enough hey .....maybe just de-restrict the top speed limiter...?
