Xcape was from Shelley Point to Mosselbaai and Xcell was the return trip.

Good service from agent, caravan is in excellent condition.

    Sofar so good.
May you have many wonderful camping trips with the new van.

Is there any posts or recommendations on some ideas for adding 12volt points inside the caravan

im also thinking of adding a small tv on a swing arm against the side wall of the cupboard in the galley to the main bed so any recommendations will be appropriated.

pics will be great if someone has some.

    Hi...

    New to the group.

I'm considering upgrading my trailer tent set up to xplorer.

So busy with all my research.

Are there any particular year models to stay away from, or particular models that I should especially be on the look out for? Whether this be design issues, or mods that are very useful.

    Tx

    Hi;
I owned Explorers for the past twenty years and are not aware of any "bad models."

If you buy second hand, verify if the caravan was properly maintained and stored.

One thing to be aware of, is that some people fit bigger wheels to the caravans to allow them the option to interchange wheels, with the towing vehicle. In some cases, this resulted in under-carriage damage.

It is awesome and very practical caravans.
    Enjoy!

Gas Struts fitted to cover over fridge, etc. Anybody that fitted struts to help lift the cover and hold it in place, it seems very heavy for wife, any modification to just open a small area to get stuff from fridge?

Any good idea to improve the space at front bed on the Xcell, only me and wfie,

    Hi Waals,
Here is my mod I did on my xplorer.
    It works perfect for us.
We do not use the front bed, thus storage only.

I have been browsing Gumtree and Campworld sites of late and have been amazed at the amount of late model Xplorers that actually are for sale. I wonder what the thought process was during the buying stage and then only a few months or year later at most, the van is offered for sale...in most cases by the dealer. So it probably had to be traded in on another van...but what?
Personally, I find this quick buy and sell strange as I tend to hang on to mine for ages but obviously there are others with a different outlook who tend to upgrade or downgrade on a regular basis.
I would be interested to know your views...

I think a big percentage is the age old reason of wanting the exclusivity of an offroad caravan, but then realizing that it offers much less space and luxury than a normal caravan for usual caravan park camping. I would expect it gets traded (or used to) for Pentas and Fleetlines.

In the clip I copied theyshow the generator for 220 v with a huge red X ,meaning no no from genie.
But the connect the 12 volt output to the caravan/vehicle BH plug.
Any reason for not using the 220v ?.

Waals, I'm not sure what year model you have but the attached 2006 manual may help too.

Do not have the schematic but I know the route of the breather pipe and how the tank is mounted. Do you have a problem with the tank not being able to burp well?

    Your assistance will be appreciated
    I have a 2005
It takes far to long to fill, then I am not even sure if it fills.
    It does "blurp"
I think the breather is blocked

The breather pipe has a loop in that allows water to remain in there. Best is to crawl underneath and change the route of the pipe. I have found that opening a tap while refilling also helps.

    Fair enough

On mine I did find that, while filling, the "blockage" spurts out of the breather pipe after a while.
