The outboard brackets that support your stays are not in the right position. They should be more out towards the left and right hand edge of the hatch. They should also be angled outwards rather than fore/aft. The stays should be in the outer holes of the cover and if they are angled outwards they will tension the whole cover and you shouldn't need any extra poles. You'll also need to put two new holes in the tent skirt to align with the new location of the brackets.

Will see how it can be fixed. O ja can you possibly post a picture of the inside of the front fold out bed. I need to know it the two bed syrfaces are level or is there a offset between the two. Thanks

I haven't got a pic of the bed without mattresses but I just went out and measured the mattress thicknesses and the inner mattress is 20mm thicker than the outer. Inner is 105mm, outer is 85mm. When they're both on the bed is level, so the factory offset is about 2cm.

You may be able to compensate for the offset by putting a thin foam mattress on the inner end under your existing mattress? That would be a lot easier than re-engineering the hatch.

Nose blanket, silver canvas for lowering temperatures inside caravan and under awning and proper camp chairs. The rest is there. Then for Swambo you can get some cutlery and an electric blanket...enjoy every moment!

Nee wat ek dink jy moet eers gaan kamp om agter te kom wat jou behoeftes is. Loop ook deur die kampterrein en "steel" met die oog ....

Ons het byvoorbeeld naweek "must haves" en dan langer kampe se "must haves" ... Jul bestemming speel ook 'n belangrike rol.

Wat wel baie belangrik (en dalk voor die hand liggend) is, is die volgende:

1. Blou kampprop en verlenging (as jy kragstaanplak gaan gebruik)
2. Tuinslag om jou tenk vol water te maak. Die oproltipe vat min plek en werk goed
3. Spandeer maar die ekstra geldjie en koop van die begin af gemaklike stoele.
4. 'n Tafel is ook 'n handige ding. Selfde reel as bo geld.
5. Grondseile maak jou kamp net meer aangenaam. As jy op sanderige grond gaan kamp, kan jy 'n gewone skadunet onder jou grondseil vasslaan, Sodoende keer jy dat die sand deur die grondseil en uiteindelik binne in jou wa beland.Glo my dit werk!
6. Wasgoedlyn (Sommige kampe verbied jou om toue tussen bome te span).
7. Ietsie vir die bure .... (ons bak altyd 'n brood/roosterkoeke en gee dan vir die bure ook. Amazing hoe mense se houding teenoor jou verander as jy vir hulle 'n bederfie gee.

Hoop julle geniet die kampery en dat julle sommer baie maats sal maak!

After this weekend I have renewed respect for the xplorers. Drove some of the worst gravel roads here in the NC, she never moaned and simply kept on asked for more. Not a screw out of place.

I can get a 1999 Xplorer for R70k

. May need a bit of work but in running condition. It is too far away for me to check it out personally. Should I take it? The price looks good and even if I spend R20K it is still good. Opinions form Xplorites please

I started to modify my existing light fittings to LED using the "stick-on" strips from Lumeno (@ Outdoor Warehouse)

Must still do the inside. Not as bright as the original fluorescents, but still sufficient for my use and a lot cheaper then the units installed by the agents..................and a lot less strain on the batteries in the bush!!

Stoele, ek hou van die soort wat lyk soos n directors chair, die met tafeltjie wat langs die kant opslaan met sakkie vir goeters soos, anti mozzie, miskien n torch,,, hulle sit ook makliker by n tafel. Ek is swaar en het hulle staal een, leker sterk, die vrou is ligter en het ligter stoel! Ons is net 2, so stoele leef in die kar agter die sitplekke, hulle kom gou in en uit en as altyd maklik beskikbaar?

Low Range

I used the 5 m LED strip lights and ran it underneath the overhead cupboards. The light is far brighter than the Flourescent fittings.

To get a better and longer lasting attachment of the glued rear side of the strip, I attached double sided sponge tape to the strip. So far it held on for more than 2 years already. Power consumption is excellent.
