from what I've heard, there should be "some" play, but not excessive.... Please don't ask what that means though...

Never have any tension on the nut. Make sure the wheel is jacked up when you take up the slack. The wheel must turn freely. If one position tight reveals any tightness loosen back on hole.

Apologies that reply was rushed on a cell phone.

" If in one position tighter where the holes line up reveals any tightness, loosen back one hole and fit locking plate and split pin"

    Hi guys,

I want to fit a larger door to the crockery hatch that it can double up as a small table next to the stove and fridge.

I bought a door but need to cut it smaller to fit the space.

Question: Anyone had success in cutting these doors without damaging the plastic wrap? I would really like to try to leave a small piece to wrap around the edge when I am done cutting.

I could cut a piece of the wrap off first and once finished cutting, stick it on?

    Thoughts?

    Cheers

You're going to have trouble sealing the end that was cut...

A regular circular saw will do it, but personally, I'd try get a "sealed" door in the correct size.

Agreed. Most places that make and install kitchen cupboards will be able to make you a custom sized door rule wrapped.

Too late. I bought it already.

Thinking of cutting back the section next to the fridge to make it flush with the door.

Will let know of the ideas and outcome.

I've been playing around with the same idea for a while now but couldn't figure out how to do it neatly. You prompted me to come up with the idea of making use of a kitchen cupboard company. Thanks.
I also want to take off the whole front of the cupboard below the stove. I'd like to rather install drawers which will allow me to make use of the space much more optimally. However, I have not figured out the details yet. Will see if I can come up with a practical plan this weekend.

I think I have a piece in my ancient stock. I will take the door to Timbercity so they can cut it with a bandsaw and straight edge.
