This was the Namakwa National Park Coastal section.
Gym exercises with spade came free of charge.

Dropped Xplorer tyre pressure to 1.5Bar on sand.

Tar I run at 3.2Bar and now sway.

Brian Pretorius from Caravan Academy in Krugersdorp did it for us at 35K.
Plus Lindsay spent about 5K on new material for all the mattresses & a new stove and a few other bits.

According to Brian we added about 80/100kg – however we can now pack a lot more smarter so will be taking only the basics with us in future.

On the longer trips into Africa - we have learnt to get supplies along the way - this reduces added kg's. Also we keep the Water tank and jerry cans full as this keeps the nose weight in check. The Caravan tow's great and sits like a glove behind my Cruiser 100VX V8. I changed the rear coil springs with the coils from the 200 series as they are the same height but almost twice as strong as the 100 series. Now with the caravan hooked up Plus draw system packed I can still use the car's hydraulic suspension on all the height settings.

Very nice mods indeed. I've thought about that same thing and wondered if someone else have done it - adding the foldout bed to make more useable space inside.

What's the problem with the weather? I just give SWAMBO a feather duvet and a electrical blanket and she's happy to go anywhere

True! We camped last weekend at Bass Lake...what a fantastic camp site! I can truly recommend. But without the electric blanket we would have frozen for sure.

My caravan is 3 months old now and I have done 3 trips, furthest being 200km away from home and included about 10 km of dirt road. Since I have last posted I have realized by cutlery bag in the new hatch was installed too low and was obstructed by the piece of foam rubber. I moved it and now the hatch works better.

My water pump is still screaming the life out of every wild animal...will have to have it checked out when going for 6m service...any wisdom?

The pump is quite irritating although similar to most normal caravan pumps, but I assume mostly because it's sitting in the open underneath (slightly bad design if venturing offroad in mud / water). I though of enclosing the pump, but is worried that it might overheat due to no air. I'll ask the question to the dealers since ours is going for the 6 month service on Thursday.
