Thanks will give them a ring to find out an estimate pricing. I have contacted Louis caravan repair and fixing door crack plus making bed smaller plus resealing whole caravan is estimated at R15,000. What say you guys?

1 Double bed conversion Including mattress as per photo R6000.00
2 Cupboard at right hand side of main door as per photo 1 R6000.00
3 Kitchen converted as per photo 2 to full pull out R1975.00
4 Cupboard above slide out kitchen as per photo 2 R9000.00
5 Fold out bed as per photo 3 R10250.00
6 Photo 4 is again a repeat of photo 1 with more detail

I use Wessel http://www.caravanrepairs.co.za/ to do all my maintenance on my caravan and trailer, his prices are good, he is based in Kempton Park and I have seen him do big repair work on caravans as well as customization. Maybe give him a call too
My last chassis service for my Regal was R950, dropped the caravan off @ 9:30 and it was ready for collection @ 15:00

Mine is a 1999 and I did some mods, but only to what some of the newer ones have.Can someone please find some fault with their Xplorers so that we can also have a long mods thread full of nifty changes?
Table installed to fit the side of van.
Old basins (for dishes and bathroom) removed and fitted alu frames that I built myself with alu sq tubing and connect it connectors with addis plastic basins. (If someone want these old basins, its up for grabs, for free)
All lights changed to LED
Some more 12v plugs all round
Old shower room removed and fitted Privy tent
Had a "stand-in" tub made for the privy to stand in and shower with normal bath plug outlet that fits directly to swiming pool pipes to drain water away. Everyting fits into one bag.
Only one thing that I still want and need to change is to remove the 2 water bottles in nose and fit a decent watertank. Waiting for a quote from Campworld in Witbank to fit a 100l belly mounted tank as on the new vans. Then my mods will be complete.

Well yes, that is very true! Just this week told SWAMBO that it's quite odd (and sickening) that the caravan is worth more than the pulling vehicleI find them expensive

Mine has had a few modifications over the years since I bought it new in 2003. Including an axcle replacement, but in all fairness it has been to some places that people fear to walk!

I like the last photo the best. Our group is camping in a few weeks from now and rumors has it we will go a bit off-road with our Xplorers...can't wait!
