Cats is advies is goed.

Ek is nou nie 'n "expert" nie.

Ek stem saam - hou by standaard.

I'm busy making a shelf out of aluminium to attach to the side of our Xplorer. I've mounted the rail that it will clip into on the side of the caravan below the window. I've still got to make up 2 support legs that will angel down to the side of the van. This will allow our normal table to fit below the shelf. It is 1200mm long and 380mm wide with the frame made from 25mm square tube. The top is 2mm aluminium sheet that I will have to treat to stop it giving off the black residue that aluminium always does. Click image for larger version.

Jeez maar die draad is lank! Ek's nou eers by p99!

The gas side of the geyser in my Xplorer hadn't worked since I bought it but it worked perfectly with 220v power. I hadn't worried much about it as the places we have been to so far all had 220v power available. This last weekend I decided to get it working as our next long trip will be off-grid. I had watched a few videos on fault finding and serving the geyser on YouTube. The first problem in the 12v power system was the 6amp circuit breaker switch that kept tripping for no reason. All the wiring up to the switch and geyser tested fine and I replace the circuit breaker with a conventional blade fuse. The spade fittings on the two thermostats in the outside panel were slightly corroded and tested fine after cleaning. The gap on the ignitor pins were a bit big so I adjusted them as suggested in the video. The first time I powered the system up the ignition worked but it didn't light although the gas valve opened. On the second attempt it all worked correctly. After about 20 minutes the geyser was at temperature and the thermostat shut off the gas supply as it should.
I'm so glad the system only needed a bit of maintenance and nothing major was wrong. Click image for larger version.

    Kan jy joune so verander?

The single door and fold out bed combination was known as the Xplorer 2 . Not many around and they were only manufactured from about 2006 to 2009 if I recall. I know of 2 in R/bay

I think there are 3 different models on the Explorers, older ones had a large square plate with a cover plate for the hot air, then the Hansens with a round vent with a black lid. The newer one has a small rectangular cover. Hope it helps to identify the type, then you can do the search. Paul has the older model, I think yours might still be the Hansen ?? There is a thread " Hansen water heater user manual " on this forum with all the info. Sorry but I don't know how to post a link

Should not be that difficult, after letting the roof out pull it in slightly and tighten all four of the black straps so that you don't have any tension on the canvas. You should have a feed guide that you use to pull the old canvas out and feed the new one in

Not from what I was told by my friend that did his one recently. He showed me the blisters on his fingers and in his reply to a similar question posed on Facebook, "Ek het myne self uitgehaal en oorgedoen.
Glo my dit was harde werk. Amper skei-sake."
