Hi John, I haven't had a chance to use it off-road yet. My dad used it for a while when he visited, and got to do a few mild outback roads, unfortunately nothing too wild. As the temperatures reach 45 - 50 degrees in some of the remote parts, it's also not necessarily a good idea to travel alone. I'll post some pics soon, at least my parents remembered to take a few pics...

Name change? Any suggestions?? I think Jeepster will have to do for now...

Default !980s Hilux - 135k on the clock!

Guys, this here is my mate's pride and joy. Bought it from his father in law, who had it since new, a few yrs back with the odo on 85 000 kms. We all grew up with the car, having been driven to our matric holiday in the Pilanesberg in it (5 kids in the back, under canopy...). It was mainly used for trips to Botswana every year and spent most of it's life chained to the carport. It's now doing light duty as a plaas trok. SLight bits of rust on the load bed but otherwise in really good nick. Every time I see it I make an offer...

Default Fortuner fridge slide & fastening system

Due to no fastening points in the back of a Fortuner I decided to build myself a platform from shutter plywood with aluminum hook strips and fridge slide bolted onto the platform, then bolt the platform down to the anchor points of the back seats that I removed.

Baie nice, ek hou daarvan. Hoeveel vra jy? Sluit dit fitment in?
    Everything is a hammer.
Unless it is a screw driver.

    Then it it a chisel.

Onderhandelbaar, solank daar genoeg vleis en bier is.

Here's some pics showing off some nice rear flex on a Prado. I haven't had a look at the flex on mine yet, but will be happy if I can get this amount of flex, it will partly make up for the lack of articulation from the IFS.

Here's the same Prado with 33" tyres (285/75/16)
