Thats exactly what mine does if I dont use the choke. Are you using the choke? And if so is it definately working?

I have problems starting my V8 Defender in the mornings and evenings or when cold. I have changed the battery with a new one but still experience the same problem. It also does not want to run when i got it running, i have to let it run for about 5 min to get engine warm before i can drive. Once warm no problems, start first time and runs well.
Any clue of what the problem can be?

With or without using the choke, it stays the same.

I had s problem with my V8 Rangie this last month or so that sometimes it will start next moment nothing. It turnout that the earth from enjin to the coil on the body had oil on where it bolted against the enjin block. Cleaned it, it starts now very easy. That after I had replaced the spark plugs, coil checked the timing, fuel presurre etc. and still I had the same problem. So check the earth wires!
Hannes.
My only addition is 1) Choke
2) Choke
I have to make sure it's properly warm before I drive it. Otherwise check your timing.
