Hi all

I'm new to the forum and I feel like I've missed out on sooo much... I finally have my very first 4x4 it's an isuzu kb 1800 swb, 1987 year model. I would appreciate any info on the bakkie as I have limited knowledge of them. I am planning a complete rebuild. I would like to go with a lift kit and bigger wheels. Are they very capable offroad bakkies and will the power be sufficient for my planned mods? Much thanks

Lovely bakkie.You got gold.I had the 2 x 1987 Kb 2200 diesel in 4x2 and 4x4.Please replace both upper and lower ball joints with agents parts.

and noisy.

1989 Isuzu 250d LE SWB

bought it at 260000km in 1996
sold it 2012 at 500000plus km.

Had a 92 kb 250. Blerrie stadig. Started breathing at 200k km. Sold at nearly 400k km. Still not opened. Didnt even do pump or injectors. Just kept on breaking a rod on suspension.

Those are poly bushes afaik.
Should last a good long while.

I bought my 1st Isuzu brand new in 1981 for the princely sum of R6100.00 - KB C190 Diesel.Best Isuzu ever built.From 1981 to now I"ve had several.

I'm a besotted Isuzu Trooper 1984 owner. Problem is it's getting on in years and the suspension and body needs attention.

Questions:
1. Are there any vehicles that can supply the parts I'm needing for suspension?
- upper control arm with bushes and balljoint
- tie rod ends

the rest I can source.

2. Engine conversion.
I'm sitting with a bullet proof but very thirsty Ford Essex 3.0 petrol engine
- I'd like to replace with a Isuzu KB250 D-TEQ.

Thoughts?

Hi i see the tread has been quiet for some time.
In the trooper why not go for the 4jb1t its a 2.8 turbo diesel and its fully mechanical so your biggest issue will be engin mountings and flushing of your fuel lines and not sure about the cowling compatibility but adapter plate can fix that
