    Default Jeep xj bushes

    Hi,
    1) is there any other option to get suspension bushes for a 98 xj apart from buying at dealers?
2)Also where's best place to look at a whining diff for vehicle.
    3) best people to replace head gasket on vehicle and average cost?

There is nothing wrong with getting original bushes from dealers but they may want to sell you complete control arms with bushes fitted, which is far more expensive. It is quite easy to get them ordered on the internet and then organise someone to fit them. They are rubber, so the parcel is not heavy and the cost of shipping should be ok.
Is your diff definitely whining? If you are coasting at say 60kph and then apply a bit of power is there a bit of grinding noise? If you have it serviced, e.g. if you just had new bearings installed, then they must set the gaps in the diff back to tolerance and the whine may be gone.
The cylinder head gasket on the 4.0l engine is easy to change. If you are at all mechanically-minded you could do it yourself. I do not trust how garages re-torque the bolts. Even if I'd let someone do it I would check it afterwards.

    Thanks guys. Next questions,

    1) what's average price on aftermarket which compatible bumpers for xj? Where best to fit in Cape?

    2) anyone install Arb lockers on XJ, is it a major advantage to have?

    Maniac4x4 for bumpers.

Lockers are always a plus, but in stock form the lsd will get you places only a few other 4x4s can get to.

Forgot to mention before going with lockers first look at how much lift you have and tire size (far more important than a locker on a xj). Then also consider the gearmax m89 diff swop for the rear ala gorman.
