It would be interesting to know what the 90k includes

As a car guy , i like over the top super cars , muscle cars and extreme 4x4s, so i must say the ARCTIC TRUCKS look good.
Followed a link to TJM SILVERLAKES the guys that do ARCTIC TRUCK conversions and their new Arctic 33 hilux looks good, what surprized me was the pricetag, 90K ,now i know thier is a lot of work involved , my JEEP JK has about a 100k into it, bumpers , lift , wheels , this 90k excludes the bumpers , tire carrier , winch.
How do they sell the conversion ? Does potential clients add this to the finance, and if so will the M&G guide list the it as a acrtic hilux33 at a higher price?
A lot of 4x4 owners modify their vehicles , but when it comes to the day it is sold u take a bath on all the upgrades , will it be the same with a ACRTIC?

You can go anywhere you want in life as long as its in a 4x4.
R90k without bumpers is a total farce. The changes are only cosmetic & things like suspension components & ratios appear to be stock.
Firstly, it is bloody expensive, some run to R150k.
Secondly, they don't touch the motor.
Third, looks awesome, but doesn't neccesarily add to performance off road.
Finally, surely in the southern hemisphere it should be called Antarctic Trucks?![]()

All the fenders on those artic trucks looks slap-on. They don't even follow the profile of the tyre. If that Hilux pictured is driven in anger then that front tyre is gonna rub.
See post #13...

It'll be fine, until the driver turns the steering wheel or tries to mount a pavement. See how the arches aren't even round, with questionable functional clearance? Total rip off for the money & it looks terribly out of proportion. But on a similar note, friends of ours has a kid whose ears are too big & stick out excessively from the side of his head, so the parents also just let it grow its hair long.
how much for the horses?

I've got video somewhere of one of the Maniac Fortuna's being tested on a proper 4x4 track, for correct suspension geometry set up & functional clearances. Those do actually work well.

They do work on the b pillar i asked them and they stiffen it, thats all i know
Nope. The fenders are designed and made locally and are very functional. No rubbing whatsoever I have tested this myself.
Have you ever driven an Arctic Truck?
When a truck hangs on three wheels the articulation pretty much goes as far as it can and the big wheels never touched the arches.
With regard to the conversion and costs keep in mind that the owner decides what and what not he wants done. It's all down to the owners budget.
But rather than speculate about whats done at what price call or mail Gary at Silverlakes and ask him. Easy as that.![]()
