Default BMW X3 2.0D fuel consumption

    Hi all

I bought a BMW X3 2.0D about two months ago. It had 85000km on the clock (2011 model, new shape).

I just want to try and find out if the fuel consumption is correct as it is way below what BMW are claiming! I know it is normally lower than what the dealers claim, but this is a lot lower...

It is mostly driven in town (90% of the time) and it gives an average of 10km/l. On the open road it increases to about 14km/l at a speed of 120 - 130km/h.

Any other X3 owners with similar experiences?

    Thanks.

The fuel consumption that you quoted seems fine, especially for town driving. The X3 is a relatively large and heavy car for the engine, so you cannot expect the same fuel consumption compared to a 320d.

Just bought a 2012, get the same basically. My 2008 was much more economical.

That is what I got in my 2010 as well. Lovely car just don't try and sell it as it keeps absolutely no value.

Hi all, my 110kw 2.0d manual with 125 000km averages around 9.5-10l/100km, with a 80/20 split city vs highway. Using the 10PPM Sasol. Moderate driving style.

I see same model X3's on Fuelly getting around 7 or 8l/100km.

Had the EGR off last night, it is as clean as a whistle.

Is this difference acceptable? Or is it worthwhile having it checked out?

This is an old post but I am surprised that my BMW X3 30d 2007 has better fuel consumption than these new models. I drove it from Underberg to Laingsburg on a single tank. I got about 6.9 L/100 kms.
