Default Echo 3 & 4 setup and mods thread

Craigb's threat http://4x4community.co.za/forum/showthread.php?t=171515 made me think to start this designated thread on the Echo 4 trailer.

Let's show and discuss here any mod's, photo's and your setup.

Here is my rig and setup when I camped for 3 weeks in Mozambique.

    Changes I want to make:
    - Replace the fiberglass nose cone with an aluminium nose cone with a slide for the fridge opening towards the kitchen area
    - Replace the current gas stove with one that not only have two settings
    - Fit LED lights in the TTT
    - Get aluminium poles for the top of the Tento Add-a-rooms so that they can stand by themselves as wwll
    - Have a sail made that I can pitch over the current setup
    - Make a bike rack to fit over the spare wheel at the rear

When I bought mine it fit old no 7 cadac. But you don't get them anymore. There are couple brands that will fit. The short fat bottles. Will have to trim the plastic a little. Is still covered by cover.

I picked up the new long 3kg bottle. It fits, but then you have to take off the gas connection when you want to close it.

Will have to find a shorter one.

Finished wiring up the LEDs - one on the kitchen side and one on the rear door.

Does the gas pipe go through from from reducer to cooker? If there's 2 pieces with a connector, you must replace it with one long piece.

    The connector model is dangerous.

Is it a high or low pressure cooker?

Only the older low bottles fit. Buy an Alwa or Cadac screw on cooker to use with the higher bottle. Very handy if its too windy.

I can't see it right, at that place where the pipe goes through the trailer, on the top of the picture, is it going through in one piece?

The pipe should be one single pipe, beginning at the cooker and
    ending where the bottle is.

If there is a connector in between, it can leak, had that with a trailer
and the whole thing almost exploded (Only 1 of our 9 trailers had that).

Sorry I don't know the right word for that connector thing .

The gas cooker seems to be a high pressure cooker?

The high pressure cookers are some older models (that told me our gas supplier) and don't need a reducer, but it tells you the cooker is old.

I prefer low pressure cooker with a reducer.

Pipe goes straight through - no connectors.
