Default petrol smell from FJ ?

    Hi,

I often smell petrol outside of car after approx. 30 min of driving. the smell comes from rear passenger side, but cant find exact location.
is there anyone can help me to solve this issue ?

its '13 FJ cruiser with front runner long range tank(dealer fitted)
and only 16k km done, have not been to offroad yet , I dont think I bump the long range tank anywhere...

    thank you in advance.

it was dealer fitted, I believe it was done in LA Sport east rand.... too far from fourways!

should I go to the east rand branch only or I can go any LA sport ?

that was the first response when I brought my FJ back to dealer to sort out some funny squeaking noise from long range tank.
(it was fixed at east rand anyway)

hope it is still under warranty...

    Hi Mike

please bring your car into us here in Kyalami and we will sort it out for you.
you should not smell fuel in any way. if you are getting a fuel smell then there is a pipe routing problem.
Please can i ask you to give Jaco a call on 011 466 0155 so that he can book your car in with us. I will not be here for the next week but Jaco will be able to help you.

My FJ does the same after filling the long range tank but not every time...and it's not for long then it's fine again. Think it's the overflow as mentioned.

I'm sure Toyota would have notified me if there was a big problem (life threatening) on the last service?

It was silver I think, has a Safari centre logo on it, it stared to rust a bit I then coated it with black etching primer.
