Default Jerry cans in the Hilux D/cab

Any tips on securing the 3-4 jerry cans in the back of my Lux on our trip to Sadle Hill. The Engel is nice and steady on the mounting, but I am worried about petrol bouncing around on the dunes.
I will surely empty the first one and a halve the first day??
    Thanx

If you have a rollbar fit them on the inside of the rollbar. If you tie them properly they will not fall around at all.

Pack them as close to the cab as possible, as far forward as possible - they will not bounce as much. Also ratchet them together and then secure them.

I have done the trip past saddle to meob a couple of times - did not find this to be a problem - normally packed so much in that there was no possibility of anything moving.

I would also like some advice on this topic.

We are planning a trip to the Richtersveld this September and I plan on taking 2 Jerry Cans with.

I want to stay away from a roof rack if possible.

My question is this : how safe is it to transport the jerry cans in the back of my Hilux with all my other stuff?
Any other ideas on where to mount the J-Cans ?

    Thanks

I did Cape Town to Etosha and across to the Skeleton Coast and back down with 3 Jerry's in the back of my ex Hardbody. I agree best place them near the centre of gravity. I placed mine in a large plastic box and packed them tight with foam. I them tied the box to the bakkie tight. No trouble the whole trip. Even doing that I still got paint rubbing around the area. I also use large plastic boxes for other stuff like food. Easy in and easy out the back. As few boxes as possible makes life easier. They just need to be secured.

    Tnx Jumbo

Ons doen dit saam met Coastaway tours.
Blykbaar moet ons 160L Petrol he. Dit beteken ek moet 4 kanne neem. My plek is goed want ons ander pelle vat 'n Challenger sleepwa wat hulle los by Luderitz.

Terloops, die bakkie is vandag by Hein Burnet afgelaai.

Dis nou behalwe as die tenk vol is of leeg is.
