    Default Starting Problems

Can anybody tell what the cause is for my Defender V8 with carburattor that i have difficulty to start in the mornings. I need to jumpstart it about every morning because battery run flat in trying to start engine.
To me it may be a fault on the fuel to the carburattor.
After i started it in the morning i have no problem in starting the engine at any time in the day.

How old is your battery? I had a similar experience on my Merc 230E. In the mornings though the battery could crank the motor there was not sufficient power to provide a spark at the plugs. After jump starting there was no further problem for the rest of the day as the motor had warmed up and there was no electrical loss at the plugs.

Replacing the battery solved the problem. Also check your alternator that it is charging correctly.
