Lightbulb Chevrolet MY14 Trailblazer (New Face & New Engine)

As of next year, the 2.5 engine power increases from 110kW to 120kW, while the torque increases from 350Nm to 380Nm. In the 2.8 engines, the powertrain now packs 9% more power, with a 6.4% increase in torque on the automatic transmissions. Those percentages, in case you were wondering, means a jump from 132kW to 144kW and from 470Nm to 500Nm.

In addition, the Chevrolet engineers have replaced the Trailblazer’s 5-speed transmissions with an all-new 6-speed manual transmission. This has been done primarily to ensure that the Trailblazer continues to lead its class when it comes to fuel economy. Move to the interior of the Trailblazer and the most exciting new add-on is the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system that is standard on the LT and LTZ models. This intelligent system brings connectivity, smartphone integration and multi-media playback to the Trailblazer, and delivers it all in a sleek on-board device, with a beautiful 7-inch high-resolution touch screen.

Other enhancements to the range include, but are not limited to:
    • A rear-view camera on the LTZ model that provides additional visibility when reversing.
    • Electric power folding mirrors.
    • Driver passenger side seat airbags.

    LT Models
    • New 2.5 engine with 120kW
    • 6 speed MT
    • Optional Darker Seats & interior (dark Ash Grey) (Cloth)
    • Driver/Passenger Side seat Airbag
    • Electric Power Folding Side Mirrors
    • MyLink Infitainment

    LTZ Models (additional to LT)
    • Rear View Camera
    • New 2.8 engine with 144 kW

All this information was obtained from Reeds Cape Town.

Wonder how the used resale value on these "new" vehicles will be, lol.

Errr.... the 2.8 DuraMax currently pushes out a claimed 132kW. Something wrong there...

The 500Nm must be nice but I still think that rebranding it an ISUZU would be the cheapest and most effective way of upping the sales!!

At the very least, go drive the current one and then make a final decision knowing an updated version is comming out.

I would wait in any case until the new Chev comes out. Maybe you can twist the Toyota dealer's arm a bit further into a good deal.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle for longer, the Chev might be a good idea. If you plan on selling after 1 or 2 years, rather go with the Fortuner.

    +1
Drive both on tar and gravel. Have a close look at the specs on both. (gearbox electronic aids fuel consumption) Make sure you pay the right price on the chev, do not pay your own trade and then blame GM for bad trade-in like some people here.

I had 9 Isuzu/Chevs the last 25 years no problems even with trade, just learned at an early age not to pay for my own trade in.

Wow!. Then you have to go Fortuner - the others won't last that long.

Plus, in 10 years time, which will you find spares for; a vehicle which sold in excess of 86 500 examples,
or a vehicle of which only 8 600.00 were sold.

By that time the flipper will be a classic seeing the technology is 9 years old already.
