Fortunately not Tobie the canopies are from a normal courier company and unless there is delay a the factory the delivery is pretty on time

Thanks Henk, Chantelle and Olaf are confident that you will have it by Friday for you to fit. If scheduled for delivery Friday when can I bring bakkie? Friday afternoon?

If it is only delivered on Friday the safest would be to come around on sat as the delivery usually get here in the afternoons.

Ja, but I'm getting tired of making a plan. I left for PE last night at 20h30 with another Maxi, arrived at 04h00 and returned home this afternoon.

I will call Grindrod personally tomorrow morning. Generally it is less than 48 hours to Pta. They'll have to load on the first truck out tomorrow and I'll ensure the trailers go in correct queue.

Shocking to think you are paying couriers to do the delivery for you but then you still have to "make a plan" as they do not delivery.

Mense...dit smaak my ek gaan my trailer kry voordat die noordelike bure hulle s'n het.

Saterdagoggend (8/6/2013) was dit nog net die decals, die elektriese aansluitingspunt en die (regte) gasbottelhouer wat kortgekom het (die een wat tans op is, is vir 'n 4.5kg Cadac en nie vir 'n 5kg nie).

Op die fabrieksvloer het dit egter gewemel van nuwe aankomelinge...een van die dae gaan daar nog 'n klompie in-hul-noppies-mense wees!



As alles goed gaan, mag ek dalk tog die langnaweek in die pad kan val.

My planne beweeg al hoe verder uit....ek het hoop gehad vir ons extra langnaweek in Julie om hom terug te ry deur Bots en dan sommer ietsie daarvan te maak...maar nou lyk dit vir my nie moontlik nie en begin bots ook met werks verpligtinge...so dit lyk nou na 15de Julie miskien eers 25ste want ek moet afry en dan weer terug.

I am considering buying a used mini which has a maxi nosecone and a rtt with bottom room. We are a family of four and I drive a Patrol. My fridge goes in the car which means the battery gets charged whenever the motor runs. Last year we did three weeks in Moz and Zim with a challenger trailer and it had adequate space even without a roofrack. I dont need all the luxuries from home in the bush - if I did I would book a chalet. As I have never seen any metalians I'm wondering if the mini would be suitable. The lighter weight appeals to me as most camping trips start with 1500 km plus on the tar and I like getting there quickly. Your experienced opinions will be appreciated.

I have made up my mind to get a Metalian - but I'm 1000 kms from Kuilsrivier.
The question is whether a mini will work for me. R80k is a lot to fork out and then feel that I should have bought the bigger model?

Hi Weltin, that is a decision you will not regret. Let's see if there is one closer to your homebase for you to view.

Weltin, what are your current sleeping arrangements/requirements ? If you are never going to mount the fridge in the trailer then there is a huge amount of packing space available , even for a Mini. It depends what your aim/motivation is with the trailer.
