We camp weekends. People who work hard during the week doesn't have to work on weekends.

That is 10.86% of all of 2016 thus far - amazing, you do like the outdoors very much!

We are 5 people and need to book six bed chalets. You save at least R1000 between a chalet and a tent site. So my trailer paid for it self in this 2.5 years.

As you can see ours is a Mini, and it definitely helps to be retired.

We did our first camping trip with it in Sept 2012, since then the trailer has done almost 70,000kms and we have slept in it on 318 nights.

I don't need to justify anything after reading about the house in Llundadno going for R95k a day during the Dec holidays.

That's what I paid for my Maxi.

So technically we are camping for free.

    Hi guys
interested in a second hand 2012 maxi. What major changes have been made to the metalians since 2012. trailer kitted with RT7 tent, how much effort does it take to open the tent for a one night stopover? What do you recon one can pay for a unit in good condition with extras

    Morning all,

    Happy New Year to everyone!

I am looking at purchasing a geyser for my Maxi. What are you all using and why that specific model? What works well and what doesn't?

    Regards,

    Ian

The changes are minimal. The TR7 tent is a very good tent. Just a point to take note of, some buyers make the mistake of looking at the last four digits on the VIN and identify the year model from this. But this is just a sequential number that may read 2012. These numbers strat at 001 every year (and the 2 is a fixed digit). You need to look at the 8th last digit which should be a C for 2012, D for 2013, E for 2014, and so on. I caution this because I don't think the TR7 was available in 2012 yet. As far as price is concerned, you need to know which components are included. The price doubles with all components fitted. Drop me an email on [email protected].

Always had an issue with the stabilizers, where to transport especially if touring and there has been some rain.

Now they are outside and readily accessible no more sand inside the trailer.

Nice one Henk, I need to make a similar plan but I don't have the rear swing arm for the spare (mine is mounted on the front remember).

Looks good. I wonder if I can do it with 4 stabilisers.

    Default 270 Awning

Ive looked at options for a 270 awning on my conquest, but never found a idea that grabbed me.

I started looking for ideas again for a awning for a Maxi and found the Patriot X1. They have a nice awning with popup mechanism.

At 5min - it shows how they lift the awning and then later they open it.

I like the concept and I'm sure it can be done with the available awnings on the market

Im trying to remove my batteries 2 x 105a. Is it possible to remove them without first removing the sliders ?

At the moment I cant see how.

I could not figure out how to remove them with out removing the slider first.

Ended up dismantling the sliders, the shelves, water pump and the lights - will put it all back together again next weekend.

What is good practice with regards to having a Maxi serviced? How often and does it depend on usage or not?

    Hi All,

I am busy having side panels for my BunduAwn manufactured at the moment.

I'll post pics as soon as I can. I cannot wait to see the finished product myself.

I am having them made by Canvas and Allied in PE.

    Cheers,

    Ian
