Hey Heinz ! Don't guess online at lock numbers cause you may guess my lock number. Or maybe you didn't? Or maybe you did.
Henk is R150 fuel and tolls away from me, you are 1500KM so R50 wasn't so bad I guess.

Re plastic tank sealing a few posts back, there's a product called "Sticks Like Sh*t" (I kid you not). Roughen the plastic surface with some coarse sandpaper and you'll be able to seal it with that stuff. I did use a rubber gasket too though.

Can't make out the pic properly but isn't for running a light/electric lead into the tent? Short zips or velcro'ed openings on tents are often provided for that purpose.

The tent appears to have been modified to fit the trailer. I'm guessing you have an aluminium rope channel fitted in the same position. If you unzip the zip, this frees up the half of the zip that is not on the tent side. You can now feed this end into the rope channel and then zip this closed. This is how you fix the tent to the rope channel in order to seal the tent against the trailer side.

Agreed. We have this on our HM 2010 tent.

If this isn't the case then you just have an extra secret (ssshhhh) entrance to your tent. A hidden feature of the Metalian-Howling Moon combo.

Brand new tent straight from the factory so this must be a standard part of the design.

Yes it must be a standard design as there is no rope channel. What the design is for is the ?

Can you unzip the entire panel? If so, maybe HM have different panels that can be fitted in order to make them more compatible with other trailer designs. (I always thought this is a good idea for any TTT to have.

No Heinz it doesn't unzip the entire panel. Its just a vertical zipper that starts above the ground sheet and ends in line with the top of the zip that opens up to have access to the trailer. I've emailed them to see what they say.

So here is the reply from Howling Moon....

"That zip is merely for manufacturing reason for our machinist to slide the tent in while sewing."

Seems all good products have hidden features there for manufacturing purposes and for sliding things around.

Afternoon gents, my water woes continue. I can not pressure the pump because it leaks out the side of the filter when I do. I have always run it by the power switch. I leave next week for Namibia and thus tried to solve my problems. In trying to do so I have snapped the one little exit port off the pump. Where can I get a replacment at short notice? In jhb

Upgraded my water tank covers on my MAXI from the standard St. Stl. covers to standard boat hatch covers (thanks Heinz for the supply), should have no more water leaking from them.

Right so as usual, one email, one phone call and by the end of the day I have the waybill - another pump on the way to me over night delivery. Thanks once again to Heinz, Gareth and his team for their willing assistance and superb service!
