    I'm still crying...

Enjoy your trailer - you can make it up to me by coming past me one day in Swakop for a camp outing

    Default My Metalian

further to my previous post, I thought I'll add some pics of our first and second camping experiences - Loskop and Tsenze in KNP
thoroughly impressed with our metalian and aiming for more extreme trips in Dec in Moz
    some unique challenges:
    * due to the 17" 285 rim and tyres, leveling is quite a challenge with spacers required below the jockey wheel, this also proves to be problematic hooking onto the tow vehicle (due to height the jack system in jockey wheel is over extended)
    * continue to struggle to find a match for gas bottle holders, have tried No3 Cadac without success

on the positive side, due to the big tyres the howling moon tent set-up is great, utensils deep in cupboards slightly problematic but working height on lids that open up(for example stove) is great.....!

must say that the set-up does stir up interest in all camps from the connoisseurs.....

After months of jealously following campers with Metalian trailers on this forum, my day has finally arrived.......trailer should be delivered to Henk and Jenny today for final touches and equipping!
Will post final pics but here's some pics on progress and some of the special work Metalian has helped me with.....One modification which is quite unique is a build-in generator for those days that solar panels just ain't gonna cut it.....

What size are those Tyres? Did they have to modify Anything? I would love to fit the same tyres on my trailer as my Patrol.

    welcome to the metalian clan
however there does not seem much clearance left between those wheels and mudguard.

point taken but I regularly camp in areas with no water and/or power in excess of 8 days, sporting a family of six! the cooling power I need you just don't get from sun panels....

generator super silent and in a silencer box, you can hardly hear it.......I need to run 2 x 90l N/L fridges in extreme heat, bait for fishing need to remain frozen + just cannot drink brannas without ice...

Excellent. Same as mine. Please post pic of rig when you get it. Also, would like to know effect on tent height. But the tyres do look Wide! Even the standard tyres behind my patrol the trailer gets VERY Dirty! A pain when u get to camp and trailer is covered in Mud!
