    Default Bought an offroad trailer

Bought my first 4x4 only a month ago and have thought about an off-road trailer for some time - then yesterday one came on my way and I decided to buy it there and then (without "consulting" the wife....).

So last night I offered the wife a glass of wine and after the 2nd glass I broke the news...

Now we are all very excited and planning our first weekend trip.

WHohoooooo - Namib here we come!!!

Nice move with the wine.... was the news about the trailer all you gave her...

One important tip, go to a 4x4 training course. I promise you, you will not regret it. and if you can, do a short recovery course aswell. I did the Nissan Tactix 1 and 2 with 2 being the recovery one and i learned a lot. Never be complacent that you don't need a course.

The 2 MOST important things you can get for your 4x4 before anything else is 1) a 4x4 course and 2) a recovery kit. IMHO.

Did Henops yesteday (Sunday) and can recommend it...
In the past Hennops was just another average trail with obstacles with a 2-3 rating. As Hennops is becoming more popular and more people drive this trail the difficulty level of this trail is getting better and better.

We went to Swaziland on a tour. Nice off-roading, scenery not so nice- to much human activity.

I took the Syncro camper for a run the weekend before ,just to make sure the battery doesn`t run down from all the standing, so when I returned home today I saw the round trip was 3296 km ,think the battery is fully charged now

    Hey Guys

Nice to see you've been out enjoying life!

I did Kruger 2 weeks ago and did the trail at Pretoriuskop, did not enjoy it cause
    1. Scratching by bushes on the sides of the trail
    2. 6ft tall grass on the trail, meant that we saw very little.
    3. Scratching by bushes on the sides of the trail
    4. oh yah, did I mention scratching?

The stop off at the dam was nice, we had a daggaboy eyeing us up for about 30 minutes not more than 50m away, we were downwind from him so he kinda new something was there but was not sure.

Got a plan now to go beack to kruger in 3 weeks and do the Nonokani trail at Phalaborwa gate.

Hehe, I took part in the 4WDC of SA's points event in the sand mine at Ou Trekpad. Very frustrating, because it basically takes you the best part of the day to do all of 10 or 15 minutes' driving - the rest of the time is spent waiting for and laughing at other drivers getting stuck! - so every time you can't negotiate an obstacle it's 10% less driving time...

These two were taken by a club mate.

Nice pics. Are the obstacles on the existing trail at Vaatjie or were they separate obstacles specially "built" for the event??

This is what I got up to yesterday at Dirt 'n Dust

    Jacques,

BTW daar was so drie manne in 'n 4x2 toy en amper hulle se *&^*&^&^ gesien.

Stem wag vir die reen dan reel ons die byeenkoms...

Nice lift moet ek se! Lyk goed!
