    Hey Granlor.

I was also at De Wildt on Sunday, what did you think of the course?

I had a good time and I was very pleased cause I made it up Gert se Klip for the first time in my Cherokee taking the left line(No diff-lock). All times before I'd only managed to get halfway up.

This is the first time out on a trail since I had the Ironman Suspension and Bridgestone D694 installed and boy did it make a difference! What a pleasure going around the track without 1 scrape (except when coming down Gert se Klip).

The increased articulation and better tyre grip got me round the course with no sweat, the only thing that still causes issues is if I drive through the deepest part of axle twisters and I get a front wheel and back wheel lifted, slip-diff kicks in and I get nowhere.
I'm not too worried about this aspect though, it is teaching me to think longer and harder about which line to take to keep all 4 wheels on terra firma.

So where to next I wonder....

Oh yah, I'll post pics later today when I get home from work....

We were at de Wildt on Saterday with the Fortuner GTG. See the thread at http://www.4x4community.com/forum/sh...t=17755&page=4 .

I was a bit disappointed in the track. They've done a lot of repairs since my last visit in April. No challenge left. Dif started doing the obsticles without DL just to get some fun out of it - but then agian we where there with Fortuners - nothing is really a challenge!

The one repair that did disappoint me the most was the last set of dongas where this one was repaired. I was kind of looking forward to do it again.

    Default De Wildt

    Bundu Boy

It was my first time out to De Wildt so all the obstacles were new to me.
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and camped overnight. I can certainly recommend De Wildt's campsite. Basic with everything you need.

I had to retry Gert se klip due to lack of momentum on the first try and got up on the second try. With the OME suspension and subsequent lift I got there was no scraping. Apart from Gert se Klip the course is fairly easy and we had no trouble doing any of the obstacles. I got stuck in the last donga trying to follow a line that my buddy in the white Colt followed. It looked easy enough but he's got an ARB front locker and boy that makes a huge difference to his capabilities. My back swung out and I could not go backwards due to the side of the embankment being in the way. There was only one option and that was forward. At least now I know the winch works.

There was a Fortuner on Sunday, he didn't want to take on Gert se Klip

Some guys I bumped into at that set of dongas told me that someone had rolled their vehicle there recently, hence the changes.

yes, the guy tried to slip through without paying and then he rolled. last time a friend came very very close to rolling his landy here.

still, it is a very mediocre track now

Well there's karma for ya, bet you if he'd paid up then he would not have rolled

The track did seem easier then what I remember. I took my missus with me and got her to do most of the driving, she put some of the other okes there to shame. I must say, her eye for the line was better than mine

I started forcing mine to drive - you never know when we need it. At first she couldn't even pull away - in LR, but then she calmed down and started enjoying it. I hope to make it an every time thing, she need to learn

I hear ya My girl is a bit of an action-chick, normally I battle to have a go myself She tends to hog the easier stuff, but when I said to her to do Gert se Klip she said no way!! This obstacle is one that can seriously damage your 4x4 if you cock-up, guess she did not want to take a chance in my car

SO where is the pictures of that set of dongas now that they have changed it so we can see what they have done. That was the only place that was challenging after the previous changes/repairs they made.
