Hi Slabfish, not quite what I had in mind when I said it’s my dream to shoot a buffalo, but it looks like it was fun.

    I stayed home

hired a petrol pump and pumped the last 14 days of storm water off my property.

Getting the pump and all its pipes in and out was fun, at one stage thought I would have to use the winch, or call for help,
mud was like baby poo and so deep that the Colt was laying on her belly.

    Hallo Almal

We went with friends to Scheppie Saus near Redelinghuys this past week-end.
what a beautiful place this time of the year. We did the 4x4 trail (rated 3), not that difficult but sure are a scenic route. Don't be misleaded, there are the areas where your skills will be tested. As far as I'm concern a must to do if you are looking for a place as close to mother nature as one can get.
Danie, the owner is the friendliness himself.

    Default Aardklop = Vlooimark

    More daar aan almal

    Was iemand anders daar gewees?

We decided to go to Saamrus in the Magaliesberg for the weekend. The chalets were a bit overpriced for what you get, in my opinion, but it is pet friendly and in fact they encourage you to take your pets. No radios or TVs and nothing to do but walk. To get to 4 of the chalets, a 4x4 is reccomended, but I'm sure you will get up with a 4x2 and a little momemtum. My dogs have never had so much freedom and by Saturday evening were lights out and did not even stir for their food! (I wasn't far behind them!) All in all a nice change.

Just driving around at Atlantis, following someone who knows the area, is one of the things I enjoy most when I'm there. We went last Sunday, and the sand was so firm, even the Horseshoe and all the steeper dunes we went up were a piece of cake...

Yep, a friend of mine joined me and I followed him around - the sand was pretty solid. About 2 inches under the sand it is still damp. Definitely going back soon! I also used Google Maps on my cellphone so that I could "see" on aerial photos where we were, and navigate to the entrance

    Default Familie...

Wel, my naweek het so 'n effense aanloop gehad. Laat ek eers vertel...

(to the English speaking forumites: I am sorry but I cannot really do this justice in English)
