    Default Africa 2015 Killimanjaro trip

We are planning our second trip to Kilimanjaro in 2015 (4 weeks). Our first one was in 2008 (also 4 weeks), but my Boet has done his first one in 2004. We have also done a scuba trip in Dec 2012 in Moz from Pemba to Tofo diving at most of the dive sites along the way. Our first trip was done only with Madalla (Colt 2.8 2002) with a 4x4 trailer and if all goes well he will take us there again. A Land Rover Discovery will join us in 2015. This time we includes Zanzibar, Nogorongoro crater, Serengety and Lake Victoria AND this time we will do a full days of white river rafting at Vic falls/Zambezi. We will also scuba at Zavora (Moz), Malawi Lake and at Zanzibar and climb Kilimanjaro again. Can anybody help with the following information?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
We looking for a place to overnight in Dar Es Salaam before we going over by ferry to Zanzibar, BUT we need a safe place at the overnight spot to leave our vehicles and trailers for the 3 days we on Zanzibar.<o></o>
Any recommend hotel/backpacker on Zanzibar? <o></o>
There are some open spots in the bakkies if you like to join us, or if you want to join us in your own vehicle we can send you more info. <o></o>
    Thanks in advance<o></o>

In the guide book they mention silver sands hotel, but stay away from that its completely unsafe.

I've read about some kind of backpackers / hostel in the city, near by the ferry, where you can leave vehicle etc.

Ill do some research later, may be I find out where it was.

Why don't you include Lake Tanganyika? If you drive up from Lake Malawi, you turn left at Mbeya, 2 overnight stops at Katavi NP, 1 days drive to Kigoma, another back to the I think its the B 2 ?

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, it is fairly up-market but the parking seemed safe and we had the vehicles plugged into electricity. Serena Dar Es Salaam hotel (formerly known as the Royal Palm Hotel). (I do not know what the rates were as it was an organised trip)

Most overlanders stay at South Beach. There are a number of places (Mikadi, Sunrise, Kipepeo), and all are within a few km of each other so you can look and choose. All store vehicles for those visiting Zanzibar and will also supply fixed price tuk tuks to the airport/ferry port. You'll find all these places on T4A. Watch out for the one way street just as you approach the ferry to South Beach. Bear left not straight on (as T4A suggests). Otherwise there will be a policeman there waiting for you ...
