We would like to do 50/50 camping and chalet accomodation to make the trip more comfy for the two ladys.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

We will be traveling in a fortuner just the one vehicle prob with a trailer.

The cost depents on your places you stay. 2014 is not so far, you must booked at december this year already, specialy for Moremi, Chobe.

    December is rainy time.

So, if you want to go up via Moremi to Chobe, stay two nights at Khama Rhino, then up to Maun, two days, then at Moremi at least 3 nights, then up another 2-3 nights, chobe itselfs 3 nights. At Kasane there are a lot of places and lots to do. Chalets is also at Senyati near Kasane.

On your way back there is Elephant Sands, nice chalets.

And then at Palapye is camp Ithumela, camping and chalets.

So, start planning and find out about bookings.

For those interested in day trips to Chobe, Vic Falls or longer trips, I can recommend Kalrose Tours, Willie +26771615519 (Real name Muletwa Chirema). He is a small independent operator. He also arranges longer tours and can assist you with planning a complete Botswana experience. We found him to be trustworthy and a great source of information.
He now has a website to look at http://kalrosetours.com/index.html

Hi Dogparadise, the pans are full. Nata lodge is underwater and the pans are closed from that side.

Last time we were in Tsabong and Bray, all the fuel stations wanted Pula, no cards

Take Pula. Card machines are few and far apart so Pula will always do the thing.

Sorry not true. Most garages, except for very small towns like Rakops, has card machines.

But yes, always have Pula with you. Sometime the machine or the operator is off line.

Best exchange rate I've encountered is the bureau d ' change just before Tlokweng/Kopfontein border. There are also Rand and Pula atm's on the Botswana side of the border post (FNB).

Hi! I've made an updated list of contact details for booking campsites in Botswana. I hope this will help when people need info on who to contact if they want to plan their holiday to Botswana

You can draw money from ATM's in most towns but it is advisable to also go with some Pula in cash, just in case. It is also good to have pula at the border for the road tax you need to pay.

James if you are flying into Kasane draw from an ATM there. Just warn your bank that you will be using your credit card outside the country or they might block transactions.
