I don't know about this. Was up in Walvis Bay the other day for business to meet a customer, no problems whatsoever. Told the immigration exactly why I was there.

They'll just one day decide they don't feel like letting you in and then you're stuck...

There isn’t a corner of the country without its own brand of spectacular scenery and no shortage of incredible, undisturbed wild camping."

"This guide provides a handy overview of the best off-road routes through some of the country’s most beautiful regions, including advice on where to camp, road conditions and vehicle support. Hi

We are planning a trip to Henties December. We were thinking of spending one night at Karasburg and one night at Keetmanshoop and then travel to Windhoek and the last day travel to Henties.

Do you perhaps have nice camping spots in those areas. Would you be able to tell me what the road condition are like on the D1918 that goes to Henties and then the C12 from Grunau too just before Keetmanshoop. We are 4 vehicles 2 of them 4x4 and the other a 2x4 one being an Nissan Extrail.

    Your assistance would be appreciated

Paul, rather ask on the normal forum instead of the sticky.

Apparently when entering Etosha please have your Passport/ID document ready. Due to the poaching they do random scans etc, also heard this can be time consuming.

At any service station, Spar, corner cafe, even sometimes on the side of the road at the coast during December. If you can find mopane, buy it. But mostly any wood in Namibia is good.

    Default Koakoveld Permit?

A nice road is the one going past hotsas/Ganab, but you need a permit for that, available in swakop.
What permit are you refering to and where exactly in Swakopmund does one get it?

    Thanks

day permit for namib naukluft park from MET to make use of the road past hotsas/ganab between the C28 and C14. Permit can be obtained at the MET offices basically in swakop main street close to zum kaiser hotel, also near cafe anton. Can also get the permit at sesriem.

    Hello All,
I have read this sticky top to bottom to see if I require 3rd party insurance for my SA vehicle. We intend to enter via Nakop Border Post, I see this is open 24 hrs. How is the traffic flow normally? We expect to pass through Jan 2.

I have all of my other papers in order including certified copies of the reg. By the way was not asked for when we returned to SA from Lesotho the other day.

    Thanks
    Dale

    Namibia Cell Coverage,

Who is the preferred cell carrier in Namibia please?
Is there much for cell coverage on the main highway corridors? I have to assume that coverage on the highways would be reasonably better that Mozambique, which isn't terrible to be honest given the considerations.
    Thanks again

    +1
When I was there in Sept, they had a really nice package for less than N$50 for voice, sms and a huge amount of data.

A friend knowing that we are going to Nam end of month phoned to inform us of the requirement of which they read in a Wegsleep. Apparantly you need a clearance certificate for yourself from SAPS. They went to SAPS this morning and yes we issue clearance certificates for NAM, took fingerprints, paid R92 and was told to come collect in 4 weeks.
    what is this?

I have never heard of this rule. This will make zero sense at all, since tourism is one of the top three income streams for Nam. If they have a rule like that, they will bankrupt themselves.
