Smile Namibia tour - september 2013

Thanks for the info for Namibia.

May I ask the vastly experienced what not to do or actions that is a definite no-no in Namibia?

My first trip there in my Ford Ranger 3.0 with a friend in his Nissan - been there long ago under different circumstances.

Been researching and it seems to be a good place to visit as a first timer.

Going to the Palmwag/Sesfontein/Kunene RL/Etosha/back home.

    Damaraland North and Kaokoland areas.

    Thanks.

    Koos.

if you stay on the C14 you do not need a permit, if you go off the C14 you will need one.

A nice road is the one going past hotsas/Ganab, but you need a permit for that, available in swakop.

    Default permitted products into Namibia

PRODUCTS TO BE IMPORTED FOR OWN USE.pdf

Appl hunting trophies.pdfI have been scratching around and gathered this info for future reference. Normally everyone worries about meat products, but there are restrictions on booze, cigarettes and gifts as well.
    Thanks for the help Elize.

Can I use a Temporary South African Passport (Brand New and valid for 12 months) when Crossing the Border from RSA to Namibia and Back?

There is a Risk that I will not receive my new Passport in time (Next Thursday 5 June) so I got a Temporary Passport as well.

Temp passport not a problem. Must be 6 months valid after returning. Just make sure to rather add a few extra days on your date of return on the form, they get very nasty when you return on the specific day you mentioned on the original form, entering the border.

Just make sure that you do not decide to return via Botswana they do not accept temp passports at all. Friend of us had to turn around because one of the passengers had a temp passport.

Just do not fill in on your form that you are here for business. Rather holiday.

    And don't dress formal.
