    Ok I cheated as my lens was a telescope.

    Southern hemisphere yes (America, Aus) at sunset/sunrise, in SA, no eclipse will be visible.

    Default Shooting the moon

    Thanks Sakkie.

    I was afraid that if I set up the tripod, the moon would have already started changing to its normal shade of light yellow. A 400mm lens and hand held don't go together for these types of shots. Lesson learnt. The colour at the time was fantastic.

    1996 Patrol 4.2SGL with lots of stuff to make it heavier and thus increase traction?

    Another few, not as "zoomed in" on the moon, but while shooting some star trails, the moon rose and gave me a nice opportunity for this landscape and portrait.

    (And yes, I resized after sharpening instead of the other way round so the shot does appear to be soft...)
