It used to cost $50 for a Tanzanian visa if I remember correctly. Now South African have more money to contribute towards the notorious Tanzanian traffic fines.

if you are going onto a site / factory / office, then they deem it work!!
CTA is a temp work permit $200.
How long you going for, which hotel, what for?

Sometimes hotel staff and customs are in cahoots, immigration like knocking on hotel doors or pitching up on site!!

    another little trick,
if getting a taxi from airport, he drivers like to say 30 , 40, 50 when asked for price,
if you ask if dollars then they say yes, uh uh, no , its actually in Tanzania shillings (TZS) and it should be about TZS 35000
    current exchange rate varies, but about 1500 - 1650 TZS / 1 USD $

buy a few cold Kili's (Kilimanjaro Beer)
Azam Ice creams and fruit juices top notch
get a local sim card at airport, rica it with passport then & there, split airtime into some data, top up, stay on forum

I stayed in the Sun last year. I do battery charging equipment. Going to visit a customer and test some batteries and fix one charger. I think i got caught last year with the dollar thing with the cab.
Thinking of taking the wife, i will work 11 and 12 Feb then valentines ? for a few days. She wants game park, i said Zanzibar. What do you think for about 4 days is worth it. We go to Seychelles often as our best friends opened a large bakery so we have our own room on Sey. If Zanzibar is the same as Sey then maybe game ?
