Default 3 Provinsies, annual December trip

What: 3 Provinces Trail Annual weekend trip
    Where: Volksrust
    When: 13-16 December 2013

This trip is usually organised by Flagster (Franz) and is always a great experience.

    Last years thread:
    http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/...ght=provinsies

This year, he cannot join us, and has asked me to start the thread.

The weather was not good last year, and was very cold, but that made the 4x4ing....interesting to say the least.

This trail is awesome, and must rate as one of the most scenic, in the country.
The accommodation and camping is also more than fairly priced, and Ronel that owns the trail, with her husband are forum members.(Mountaingirl)

    • Accommodation is arranged by yourself by Ronel, I suggest going to the link and getting the booking form from there or phone Ronel and arrange with her.
    • The camp sites and chalets or lodges are quite a distance from each other, so decide if you are willing to do the extra travelling to attend the group braais etc.
    • Its for 3 days, and we might have to split the group into 2 and do opposite trails on two different days.
    • The convoys will leave latest 8am to start the trails
    • There are no power points at the camp sites!
    • Closest shop is in Volksrust.
    • Closest fuel is in Volksrust.
    • It can get cold at night so don't be shy with the warm clothes.
    • If you have one of those wind screens or wind deflectors bring it along, just in case the wind blows at night like last year.
    • Bring your own braai grid! There are truck rims for braais or to make a fire in but you are welcome to bring your own portable little braai. Most of us that are going have braai grids so don't go buy one especially.
    • Snacks for the road. We will be on the road most of the day so I suggest you take a lot of snacks and cold drinks especially for the kids.
    • Sun block - always! it gets nice and hot in the daytime.
    • Remember it might rain so bring the appropriate clothes with, you never know what the weather has planned for us.
    • If you have a radio, bring it with.
    • Have fun!

I have added the new booking and reservation form to the first post.
Its best if each family or individual makes his own booking with Ronel.

    Important Points:

    • The NEW booking form must be used.
    • 50% deposit must be paid, directly to Ronel.
    • The rest of the payment can be settled on arrival.
    • I will need confirmation as well.
    • Lets try and have all the bookings done by say the 15th of November.

This trip is not linked to any specific club and excludes no one.

    1. Andrewfus + Deborah Confirmed Rock Cabin 1
    2. pblaaw – need to pay in full on arrival

    Thumbs up enjoy it

Enjoy it guys, but we cant make it this time around.
I went last year and even though we left early (with a 5 month old) we still had a great time for the time we were there.

This is mainly thanks to John (Angelblooms) who is a gentleman and scholar (and a legend in my books) as he borrowed us his beautiful Prado for the weekend as my Triton had some issues.

Yup... this forum is a generous place frequented by some great people.

    enjoy the trail

    @NerdBakkie
Thanks for the nice words Aaron! And it means a lot seeing that it is coming from a real gentleman himself!
Hopefully things changes later on and you guys can make it. The Prado is available again seeing that it requires another valet

    @Franz and Andrew
Guys we are busy sorting out the leave requirements for December. Sections of the plant is already in production and our Client has indicated that they will run the plant over December. So I might have to be on site.

If I can manage to get time off then we will definately be there again!

This is a trip one needs to try and do!
