    Hy WIL spring !!!

Hi guys, current MTB is Silverback sola 2, 2 years old. I see new sola 1 is almost 20k, if i wanted something a tad lighter, smaller front group set, would i need to spend 20k for a hardtail, large, 29 inch, compared to the 9k i paid for mine, cant validate an extra 10k for a 2018 model, i know second hand is way cheaper, but if you were buying new and had a max budget of 17k, out of all the brands, what is currently the best buy out there?

keep an eye out for the specials to start ....

Once a shop has their 2019 stock - YES, 2019 stock is already available for some bikes - they start to offer "better" deals on their 2018 stock ....

Late this year, or early 2019, you get brilliant specials on 2018 models !! Brand new bike, but old paint scheme ....

My Merida XT Edition had a floor price of R18k, paid R11k for it, and they immediately put the new model on the floor for R25k. That "brand-new-old" bike rides NICE.

Engel, what do you use the fatbike for? Iíve been toying with the idea of getting one for when we camp on the beach. Just seems a lot of cash for such limited use.

Agree with that. I traded my Silverback for a Merida 29'er, at Cajee's last year. They gave me what I basically paid for the S'back four years before, and after discount, bought 29'er for just under R9k, normal price was over R14K. 2016 model, but so what, I got what I wanted.

Nice pics, Simon! I'm strongly considering the TransAugrabies in June, just for fun. It is such a beautiful place to go ride a MTB.
